Infertility and Stress

Thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be on the #asawoman podcast with @nataliecrawfordmd. Listen to episode 40 ‘Infertility and Stress’ to hear us discuss the importance of mental health while dealing with infertility and miscarriage.

Key points we want everyone to know:

Stress, depression, and anxiety are extremely common in patients struggling to complete their family - you may be surprised by the statistics we quote including Natalie’s own research.

Infertility and it’s treatments can be stressful and the most common reason patients drop out of treatment is not financial limitations or poor prognosis - it’s depression and anxiety in our patients.

Addressing mental health in our patients increases success with treatment.

We cannot eliminate stress but we can limit its impact on our health with stress management tools.

Stress management techniques do not have to be expensive or take significant time to utilize.

Patients feeling depressed, anxious, stressed are not alone.

❤️Taking care of yourself is not selfish - self care is essential❤️

I loved having the opportunity to discuss this incredibly important topic!
